Life, the Universe and Everything? (28.01)

An article in this month's New Scientist, headed 'I is the Law', reports on the work of physicist Roy Frieden and his discovery that it may be possible to account for all the laws of physics thorough a fundamental idea that underpins everything.  Gosh!

Looking for Google? (28.01)

There is a new search engine around called Google.   The site was in alpha at the end of this month and indicated that it may get a bit busy while more computers are added.  However, it now appears to be up and running properly.
A neat feature is that it offers cached versions of the pages it has found for you.   This  makes it possible to retrieve information which it has expired or when the required site is slow to respond.
And if Google doesn't have it?  Well, it provides links to all the other popular search engines and, to help out, it will even send your current query on automatically.
